WWF Electrolux Professional and WWF Italia, the Italian chapter of one of the world’s largest environmental organizations, will collaborate in 2008 and promote the Electrolux Green Spirit product range of professional appliances, which are specially designed to reduce the impact on the environment.

GREEN SPIRIT: products that save the environment and cost

Over the last years environmental issues have become increasingly important and energy efficiency and emission reduction are now more urgent than ever.

Professional kitchens have many heavy duty appliances installed which are in use for most of the day all year long. Reducing energy consumption in professional kitchens has an immediate impact on the environment and a significant impact on operating cost as well.

Electrolux Professional is totally committed to the environmental issues at every stage of the product life cycle: from design to manufacturing and from product usage to disposal. Already ten years ago, the Electrolux Professional factories were ISO 14001 certified. Products are RoHS free and over 95% can be recycled.

Most of the environmental impact and up to 50% of the product lifetime cost relate to the product usage. Electrolux Professional has now created the GREEN SPIRIT product range, including only products that provide significant savings in the consumption of gas, electricity, water, detergent as well as reduction in CO2 and NoX emissions. As a minimum requirement, GREEN SPIRIT products must meet one or more of the following standards: ECA, GASTEQ, DEST, EIA, ENERGYSTAR, California Energy Commission, or US Federal Energy Management Program.
