University Hospital in Marburg, Germany chooses ELECTROLUX PROFESSIONAL


High quality standards and efficient after sale service was the reason for choosing ELECTROLUX PROFESSIONAL.


“Other cities have a University – Marburg is a University”, that is how the local people proudly talk about their city.
And rightly so, the Philips University, founded in 1527, plays an important role in the economics of the city. The faculty of Medicine is part of the University Hospital.

The hospital kitchen is catering for about 1 200 patients per day with about 400 special diet meals and the menus are mainly prepared from fresh ingredients. Patients can choose from four different menus and in addition the kitchen prepares 120 – 200 fresh salad dishes per day.

All meals are prepared in an ELECTROLUX kitchen.
The installation consists of five blocks of cooking THERMALINE with boiling pans and tilting bratt pans. The islands are completed by induction ranges and induction woks, as well as grill plates and deep fat fryers.
“All installation work was carried out during our normal daily operations, and none of our patients noticed it“, Horst Wetterau proudly says. Wetterau is responsible for the quality management in the double role of chef and company manager.
Beside the great efforts of his team during this time, Wetterau mentions the skilled work of ELECTROLUX PROFESSIONAL, supported by the co-operation of the partner company Zilg-Brauneis, Hainburg.
He is especially filled with enthusiasm by the professional training given to him and his team. A skilled chef from ELECTROLUX PROFESSIONAL did – during one week – not only explain all the new appliances and their advantages, but also participated as a member of Horst Wetterau’s team.

“It is quality that makes a guest feel comfortable and willing to come back if necessary“, says Horst Wetterau. “And it is significant that patients here are treated as guests”. As a member of the Association of Chefs, several times honoured for his excellent “art of cooking“, member of the organisation team of the last “Chefs Olympics”, Wetterau knows very well what matters for his customers/patients: food quality is a key factor, especially for infirm patients.

The main reasons for choosing ELECTROLUX THERMALINE appliances were the technology of the equipment and their practical application. ”We did not need an investment kitchen but a quality kitchen, tailored to our needs”, Heinz-Georg Kirchhain, manager of the administrative department, explains.
The focus was not only on the amount to be invested, but also especially on the fact “that cooking technology has to be performed in accordance with planned production “.
The installation fulfils the requirements of an ergonomic workflow. “The handling is first-class and easy for the operators” Horst Wetterau says.
