The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) is one of the world most important examples of a word-class centre of excellence realized thanks to Electrolux Professional: there are over 30 Cook&Chill systems composed of air-o-steam® ovens and air-o-chill® blast chillers; all kitchen functions are automatically controlled by EKIS (Electrolux Kitchen Intelligent System).
The Convention Centre represents the latest project within PETRONAS’ distinctive Kuala Lumpur City Centre development. Designed as a “city within a city”, this 100-acre development is situated at the centre of Kuala Lumpur’s Central Business District and represents the most advanced, purpose-built facility for international, regional and local conventions, tradeshows, public exhibitions, entertainment and private functions.
Electrolux Professional provided a complete solution for the kitchen facilities from the planning of the kitchen appliances disposition, to the tests aimed to verify the HACCP Control and the EKIS System connections and functioning, and ensured also an on site training to the KLCC chefs.
Forty air-o-steam® combi ovens, sixty-nine refrigerating and freezing systems, fourteen dishwashing appliances (Glasswashers, Hoodtype and Flyght type dishwashers), three tilting bratt pans and modular cooking equipment have been installed to offer to the Convention Centre guests the best choice for banqueting facilities.
In Kuala Lumpur, more than one hundred and fifty appliances have been connected to the EKIS System to control their functioning via computer. The Electrolux Kitchen Information System (EKIS) is the Electrolux proprietary software that permits to connect all the Electrolux Professional appliances in the kitchen to a PC. Using EKIS, the HACCP information and relevant events can be monitored in real time; reports can be stored in the PC and the appliance functioning can also be programmed via computer to ensure a perfect functioning and control.
