Electrolux Professional Products Help Westin Tabor Center’s Kitchen Run More Efficiently


Centrally located in downtown Denver, Colorado, the Westin Tabor Center offers guests 430 guest rooms and over 2700 m2 of banquet space available for weddings, sports and business functions. In order to serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as food for room service and banquets, the Westin Tabor Center kitchen relies on Electrolux Professional products to prepare these meals more efficiently.


Westin Tabor Center Executive Chef Jean-Luc Voegele uses an air-o-chill® 20 grids GN 2/1 blastchiller, air-o-steam® 20 grids GN2/1 combi oven, banqueting racks, a 150 litre electric pressure braising pan, a 300 litre tilting kettle, and a 4 burners thermaline S90 range to serve up to 1,500 people on any given day. He chose Electrolux products for his kitchen after visiting several food and equipment shows and visiting the Culinary Event Center located at Electrolux Professional’s North American headquarters in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

One of the main selling points for Voegele was the easy to read and easy to program display panels on the products. For instance, he says, “the air-o-steam® combi oven display is awesome. I can see everything from a distance; humidity, heat, time remaining etc. There is no guessing with Electrolux products, just precise cooking,” said Voegele.

Time, labor and energy savings were a big part of the decision to use Electrolux products as well. “I wouldn’t have the ability to do what I can, without Electrolux products,” said Voegele. “I can cook 400/500 portions of rice in only 25 minutes, and I’ve cut the time in half for preparing braised meat, using the pressure braising pan. I can also pre-scoop ice cream, and leave it the air-o-chill® blast chiller, and it will still maintain its form.”

The feedback has been very positive from the guests as well. “Many people tell me the banquet food tastes better than in most restaurants, and I also get asked ‘how do I do it?’”
